We partnered with the three companies to create the ADF Employment Hackathon. Cross-industry teams collaborated to develop, support, and promote ongoing employment opportunities for ADF and their families as they relocate throughout the ADF estate.

The core challenge statement for the 1-day hackathon was "How can we develop, support and promote ongoing employment opportunities for ADF and their families as they relocate throughout the ADF estate". Participants created solutions around personas including defence spouses, working children of defence households, and recruiters.

Key Results

According to participants, highlights from the hackathon include working on a real-world problem (84%) and the networking opportunities (79%). Additionally, 40% of participants increased their knowledge of ADF Family Employment practices across Australia and 39% had increased confidence in the Industry Partners as leaders of ADF Family Employment.
